As the Garden of England explodes into a riot of colour this summer with fantastic flowers and verdant veggies so to is our church - we are flourishing as a community and this has been showcased with an appearence on Songs of Praise, a community award, exhibitions and so much more!
On the telly, Steward Elder Christopher Butler spoke movingly about how he and Folk musician Morag Butler adopted their three children, while poet and member Harry Baker read a beauriful poem on fatherhood against the background of Margate harbour. Our town looked stunning bathed in golden light and a shimmering sea. We also had a chat with Radio Kent about the Food for Thought initiative which was aired across the county.

Recently the United Reformed Church attended an FFT service - it was our ever-endearing, slightly-bonkers, Passion Play. The team created a video pastiche which is utterly brilliant and we were shortlisted for a Community Project Award.....Dear Reader...We Won!!!! Artist, FFT Videographer and church member, Grace Saint travelled with Christopher to Derby for the ceremony. It's a testament to the work and commitment in creating an inclusive, welcoming church and we could not be prouder!

Saint curates an offering of the work of Dana Fox, David Kerry (of Blackmoon1348) and themselves united and presented in the context of Margate’s only Inclusive Church. The exhibition explores ideas of safe space, refuge and acts of personal or divine truth-telling. Contributing with inclusion as a radical act of love the artists are of mixed faiths and mixed identities working together rather than fostering fear. The work communes with queer aesthetics and inclusive theology at the four-week long exhibition for the Margate Pride Art Map.

40 Hours Devotion
12th-17th September at Salon, Northdown Road, Cliftonville.
The first UK exhibition of all forty Relics from a sacred forty hour rite enacted over Easter 2024. In darkness and hermetic seclusion, Saint descended into The Cave beneath their basement flat in Hawley Square, practicing quarantore and channeling creation and apparitions for the span of the forty hours in which Christ’s body also lay entombed, suspended between death and resurrection.
